I grew up loving food, and then my health made it difFICULT TO eat the meals I loved.
I’m Allison, and I want you to be nourished.
I’ve always been passionate about food, and you could often find me in the kitchen while growing up. How many 12-year-olds did you know who were cooking manicotti and baking coconut cakes for fun?
Once I began my career, it became more challenging to make food from scratch regularly. Constraints constantly showed up.

Missing ingredients
The data helped me realize that eating dairy and meat often triggered pain for me. Many years later I learned that these foods were impacting my hormones, but I initially fought cutting these foods. I didn’t want to accept that they could be the cause. I mean who wants to give up cheese and ice cream!
I felt better not eating them, so I was motivated to continue this journey. But honestly, it started to feel so restrictive - no meat, no dairy, no wheat, no processed foods. The constant question became, “What can I eat?”
how does food impact my health?
Sometimes, dinner was whatever I had in the pantry or fridge - chips, nuts, and other snacks or a highly processed frozen pasta meal.
When I started experiencing abdominal pain, I paid more attention to what I was eating and maintained a food diary to make connections. Then I discovered that certain foods were hurting my body.
i had to shift my mindset.
Once I transitioned from thinking about everything I could not eat and focused on all the things I could, my world expanded. I explored fruits and vegetables I had never eaten and cooked things in new creative ways.
My passion for new foods grew, and I was spending more time in the kitchen again. I felt empowered as I managed my symptoms and fed my body nutritious options. I have successfully maintained a plant-based lifestyle for 10 years, and it has truly been life-changing.
